Convention English Schools (CES) are educational institutions run and managed by the Society -Evangelical Baptist Convention(EBC), a Not for Profit Charitable Organization Registered under the Society Registration Act (XXI) of 1860, Manipur Act No 1 of 1990, bearing Registration No 2294 of 1977. It runs and manages a total of 46 schools of various levels in the state of Manipur and Mizoram. CES caters to the interior hilly – mountainous and hard to access regions of Manipur and Mizoram, providing access to education to the economically and socially backward population by charging minimal fees.
The Overall management and Supervision of CES rests with the Director of Development Department of EBC.
Over the years CES has produced successful citizens who secured gainful employment under various government department under the central and state government, private entrepreneur and in non-government agencies, who have contributed towards humanity, society and nation building.
With the passage of time CES too has endeavored to provide quality education accessible to the economically weaker section of the society. The schools are funded by contribution and donations received from the church members, well wishers and other like minded organizations.
The Theme of “Honesty, Purity, Loyalty” itself is the aims and objectives of CES, to produce Honest Citizens, with a Pure Heart , Loyal to God and to the Nation.
Kaikhoen Academy
Kaikhoen Academy, Suangdoh Village under Sungdoh Sub Division of Churachandpur District of Manipur was established by EBC in the year 1995, it was a joint effort of the community, EBC and the Chief of the Village. The land for the school is donated by the chief of Suangdoh Village, Pu Chinkholian Guite in memory of his late beloved father (L) Kaikhoen, after which the school was named. It is a co-educational institution. It caters to students from about 7 nearby villages even from across international border, it is located near Indo-Myanmmar border along National Highway 102B, about 65 Kms from the district headquarter Churachandpur.
Recognition/Affiliation
The school has qualified, dedicated and motivated staff, it was recognized by the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur to run classes upto 8th standard (Recognition No 46/1/79-ED(V)(VIII) of 1995).
Convention English High School Sinzawl
Convention English High School Sinzawl was established in the year 1989, it was a joint effort of the Community, EBC and the Chief of the Village. The land for the school was donated by the chief of the village, it was an UN SURVEYED Land, where the ownership right of the land rests with the chief of the village. It is located in the Southernmost part of Churachandpur district bordering Indian state of Mizoram to the south and Myanmar in the East, along NH 102B. It is about 250 Kms from the district Headquarter Churachandpur. The school caters to students in about 6 neighboring villages even across international and state border.
Recognition/Affiliation
It is a co-educational institution running classes up to Secondary (10th) level, it was recognized and affiliated to the Board of Secondary Education Manipur vide Order No. G/54/Vol-IV.
Networking & Community Participation
Convention English High School Sinzawl has close relationship and involvement of the community and other stakeholders. Health Camps, Career Awareness and Observation of important days and occasions are organized with the Health department, and Armed Forces stationed in the village.
